The Modern restaurant at the Israel Museum offers contemporary, inspired and original Jerusalemite cuisine. The restaurant's design, its location inside the museum and the landscape of the valley of the Cross and the Knesset, which are seen from its windows, compose an exceptional Jerusalemite atmosphere.
The restaurant's special dishes are based on the hundred years old cuisine which has developed outside of the Old City walls. Warm flavors of longing for far away countries. The Chef has broken the recipes and rebuilt them, creating a modern cuisine with local flavors, made of seasonal first rate components.
Business lunch menu – at noon hours from Sunday to Thursday, Modern offers business meals which include appetizers and main courses, at the price of the appetizer alone. On Tuesday evening, starting from 18:00, we offer the Chef menu. The recipes at Modern wear different forms and revived, new versions on a regular basis in accordance with the seasons and the fresh products available in the market. Additionally, you should always inquire about the special dish of the day. The assorted menu, the rich selection of wines, the attentive, kindly and professional service are the source of Modern's exceptional character.
